A Minor Inconvenience

Today I played flag football, as with most Sundays.  Unfortunately, my hands felt a little sore, almost like a slight weakness in my hands.  I found it a little harder to react and pull at player's flags.  I haven't noticed side effects in any of my normal everyday activities.  Anyway, we will see how this progresses.

Parchness Achieved

Three days out and I officially have ParchedPores.  Prior to my treatment, I never wore lotion on my hands.  Now... pass the lotion PLEASE!!!  My hands are completely dry, almost way too dry.

Two Days Out

So, I'm two days out and have noticed dryness on my hands.  This is amazing, I'm on the road to Parched Pores!  At this point, I have noticed similar results from Botox and Dysport.

The Day After

I notice a little scab colored mark at each injection site on my hands.  I had about 40 injections on each hand.  I can see the marks, but my hands feel smooth.  I have not noticed a change in sweat level at this time.

Initial Treatment

Today was the big day of having treatment.  I had my procedure done at Allure Image Enhancement, Inc.  I am still a little drowsy after the treatment, but overall it was a great experience.  I was given oral medication to make the experience more comfortable.  I began by having my hands numb by a topical anesthetic.  After about 45 minutes, I was taken to a room where the treatment would take place.  Mina was the nurse practitioner who did my procedure.  The injections to the hand was not the greatest feeling, but Mina actually trailed each injection with an ice cube to help distract me.  I had about 70 units of Botox in my right hand, and about 175 units of Dysport on my left hand.  Each of these products have a different ratio conversion for their unit measurements.  It sounds like a lot, but I pretty much had an equivalent amount of product in each hand.

Dysport vs. Botox

So, I have decided to have a treatment to treat the excessive sweating on my hands.  It's not the greatest feeling, constantly reminding yourself to wipe your hands on your pants prior to shaking someone's hand.  It's kind of embarrassing, having to do this prior to every meeting you have in a work day.  If you do your research on the Internet, you will find that Botox is actually a fairly easy way to help reduce sweating.  Did you ever think the product that has been "coined" as the wrinkle reducer or face freezer, has also the power to reduce sweat?

Dysport is a new product on the market that is similar to Botox, apparently they are both a Botulinum Toxin Type A.  I decided that I will try a different product in each hand (Botox on right, Dysport on left), and see if I get similar results in dryness and duration.
